The Kittredge Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) has been organized
to provide another communication vehicle between home and school
and to enhance student learning by raising funds that are used to
support classroom programs. The most valuable contribution by the
PTO are the countless volunteer hours that provide opportunities
for student individualization that might not otherwise occur.
Specifically:
- Parents assist in the classrooms and the library;
- They organize and run social events for students and
parents;
- They perform clerical tasks that allow teachers more contact
time with students;
- They plan and run events, such as Family Math Nights, that
give parents and students an academic experience;
- They organize "Room Mothers" to assist with
classroom events;
- They produce a monthly school newspaper and weekly Newslink
newsletter;
- They plan an annual celebration to show appreciation for our
dedicated staff.
These are just a few examples of the many ways the PTO
contributes to our smoothly operating school life.
It's hard to imagine Kittredge School without the dedicated
parents who are willing to do whatever needs to be done to
improve learning opportunities for our students.
