Often throughout the year the local newspaper, cable TV channel and school department take pictures or write about school activities and students. It is the policy of the North Andover School Department to make this information available if parents have granted permission to do so, in writing, in advance. In addition, as part of your child's educational program he/she will have the opportunity to publish documents and projects on the North Andover school websites. Examples of projects may include stories, poetry, research, artwork, and photographs. If you have not already returned the permission to publish please do so as soon as possible. Permission forms are available at the school office.

From the Health Office: Vision and Hearing Screening

Vision and hearing screening is conducted annually for all students in the elementary schools. If your child has difficulty passing the screening, you will receive a referral in the mail and you will be asked to schedule an appointment with your pediatrician or specialist as soon as possible for a more comprehensive examination. The referral needs to be completed and signed by the healthcare provider and returned to the attention of the school nurse. If a child has a cold or allergies, he or she may have difficulty passing the hearing exam because of fluid in the inner ear and will be retested in a few weeks before a referral is made. I am planning to start screening this week beginning with the 3rd and 4th grades. Children who wear glasses will be tested with glasses on. Please feel free to contact me at +1 978 794 3849 if you have any questions or concerns about the screening.

North Andover Youth Services Holiday Gift Drive 2005

The Holiday Gift Drive is a one of the many remarkable services North Andover Youth Services provides to families in our community. Because of financial hardships on some families, many children would go without gifts during the holidays. The Holiday Gift Drive addresses this issue by organizing sponsors to donate gifts for children in need. Sponsors can choose any number of children they wish to provide gifts for, and whether it be one child or four from a family, each sponsor is essential to the Holiday Gift Drive being a success year after year. Youth Services is expecting even more children added to our list this year, and we are eager to expand our existing list of sponsors. If you are or know of a family in need of these services please contact Kristen Hardacre or Jenn Conway of North Andover Youth Services. North Andover Youth Services can only accept families from North Andover that have children age 18 or younger. All referrals and participating families are kept anonymous. If you and your family would like to be a part of this event, please call Kristen or Jenn at Youth Services to request a sponsor form, +1 978 682 9000 ext. 226 or e-mail: jconway@nayouth.com. This is an outstanding service made possible only by your generosity. To become a sponsor, please respond by November 10th. Thank you for your support.
