Tuesday the 21st of June: 6:30PM Board, 7:00PM General.
From the PrincipalDear Kittredge Families,
As I reflect on my first year as principal of the Kittredge School, I realize how much for which I am grateful. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for being partners with the Kittredge staff in developing a successful school community. You certainly help to make our job easier by helping in so many ways. Thanks to our room parents, to our volunteers, to the PTO and to the School Council. Thank you to Kathy Eastwood for producing the Kittredge Newslink every week throughout the school year. Thanks to each one of you for believing that what we do is important and for making sure your child came to school happy and healthy every day.
I'd also like to publicly thank the wonderful staff of the Kittredge School. They are the ones who make it all happen, every day. Their tireless efforts are reflected in the smiles and successes of their students. Thanks to the cooks and the noon attendants, to the classroom assistants and to the specialists. Thanks to Mrs. McCarthy for keeping our school running smoothly and welcoming everyone as they come through our doors. I could not do my job without her! Thanks to Mrs. Hadjian, our school nurse, who gently wiped many tears, bandaged many injuries and gave abundant TLC. Thanks to Mr. Brennan our faithful and hard working custodian. A special thank you to Karen Harvey, my assistant principal, for all her support and for helping me find my way this year at Kittredge. And thank you to all of the classroom teachers, special education teachers and reading teachers. It is hard not to be impressed by their dedication and genuine caring.
A special thank you to Mrs. Tortora for her many years of dedicated service to the Kittredge students. I am happy to announce that I am appointing Ms. Cypriana Slosky, our music teacher, to the second grade position. Ms. Slosky was a second grade teacher at the Sargent School for 3 years prior to becoming a music teacher. Although she has enjoyed teaching music, her first love is classroom teaching and she looks forward to returning to the classroom.
Finally, I'd like to wish each of you a happy, restful, and relaxing summer. Whatever you do and wherever you go, please remember that you are the primary educators of your children. Take every opportunity to make every experience a learning one. It is so important for children to make connections to every day living. So read maps and recipes. Figure out mileage when you travel and count change when you shop. Talk about the wonder of nature and the treasure of discovering new places. And read, read, and read some more with your children!
Have a wonderful summer! I look forward to seeing and working with all of you again in the fall.
Sincerely, Nancy Jukins
Health Office NewsAs the school year comes to a close, it is our policy to have all medication in the health office picked up by a parent or another adult on the last day of school. Students are not allowed to carry medication home in their backpacks for the safety of all our students. Any medication left at the end of the school day on June 27th will be discarded. Thank you for your cooperation in his matter.
Medication orders must be renewed at the beginning of each academic year. Medication form packets will be prepared for each student who currently has medication orders for school. These forms are used at all schools in North Andover. If you are visiting Kittredge, please stop by the Health Office to pick up your forms. Please call me if you would prefer to have your medication forms mailed to you.

Fun Run Thank YouA huge thanks to the families for their donations (over $1300) and the parents who volunteered their time. The children had a great time running around the school between raindrops, dancing to the music, eating the red, white, and blue popsicles, and finding creative ways to wear their flag bandanas. This FUN RUN was a huge success.
Family Fun Night Needs You!The PTO is seeking coordinators to organize FFN. It is important to have organizers volunteer now as preparations occur the first few weeks of September. Much is already organized and just needs to be passed on. To volunteer or inquire, please contact Tina Shumway, +1 978 687 8580, or Lisa Martelli, +1 978 685 3312.
