Dove Campaign

The Dove Campaign is a project created to raise awareness of peace and to help children realize the importance of working together in a peaceful and cooperative way. You may have seen "Kids As Peacemakers" billboards in front of schools, churches, and social organizations in the Greater Newburyport area. The Kittredge School has decided to become part of the Dove Campaign. Each classroom has selected one student to be part of a committee to design the 4'x8' Kittredge "Kids As Peacemakers" billboard. The children will create a design and paint the billboard which will be displayed on the fence around the school all summer. To that end, I am looking for two or three volunteers to assist the students in this endeavor. It will involve 2 Wednesday afternoons, June 15th and June 22nd, and one meeting with Nancy Jukins to organize the materials. If you are interested and able, please either call the school or drop a note to Nancy Jukins by Wednesday, June 8th. Thank you for your continued support of our school community.

The School Committee Meeting for June 7th has been rescheduled for June 14th.

The Eagle-Tribune Subscription Benefit Drive

The North Andover School Department is launching a newspaper subscription drive to raise funds for the next school year. The drive will run for two weeks, May 30th through June 11th. For every new 26-week subscription, the Eagle-Tribune will donate $50 directly to the school department. As thanks for participating, new subscribers will receive a $10 Panera gift certificate. If you are currently a subscriber, but pay your carrier weekly, converting to automatic payment on a debit or credit card will generate a $20 donation to the school department. As thanks for participating subscribers converting to EZ Pay will receive a $5 Panera gift certificate.

You can stay in touch daily with what is happening in the schools and in the town by subscribing to The Eagle-Tribune. Being informed is the best way to stay involved. The North Andover School Department could make thousands of dollars with residents participating in this drive - money that will go a long way to supporting our schools.

Fill out the form sent home with newsletter and return it to the front office by Friday, June 11th. For more information, please call Kristen Huberdeau, +1 978 686 8196 - and thanks for helping our North Andover schools.

From the Health Office

Now that we are finally seeing the sun again and with upcoming events such as field trips, physical education classes, and field day, students will be spending more time outdoors. In addition, the sun's rays are strongest at midday during recess time. To protect your child from the potentially harmful rays, we suggest applying sunscreen prior to the school day. Sunscreens with the minimum of SPF 15 are recommended. Hats and sunglasses provide an extra measure of protection for the face and eyes. Please take a moment to help your child establish the habit of protecting themselves from the sun at an early age.

Thank You!

A huge thank you to all who took the time to answer the School Council survey. The response was amazing with 70 families returning the survey.
