Enrichment Council UpdateThe North Andover Schools Enrichment Council will welcome Andover poet Jeff Nathan to the Kittredge School starting on March 1st for three performances. The award-winning author will introduce first and second grade classes to PunOETRY: his humorous combination of puns, poetry and fractured nursery rhymes, and then touch upon MCAS-related material with his shows for the third grade and a combined fourth and fifth grade program. Sherlock Poem's (Jeff's alter-ego) will help him teach the kids how to become poetry detectives and uncover what a poem tells us. While the third graders explore parts of rhyme, speech, pluralizing, and reading comprehension, the fourth and fifth graders will discuss poetic tools like similes, metaphors, poetic license and meter. To learn more, check out Jeff's amazing website at www.Jeffnathanpoems.com. His books, "Calling All Animals" and "There's a Hippo In My Locker," are available at the Andover Book Store.
