The main entrance at Kittredge is locked every morning at 9:00 a.m. and remains locked for the entire school day. Before you can enter the building, you must push the buzzer to the left of the main door. Once the secretary has identified you, she will unlock the door so you can enter the building. Please do not ring the doorbell to the right of the door. This bell rings throughout the building and disturbs the students and teachers. Also, you must sign in and wear a visitor's badge while you are in the building. Thank you for helping us to maintain a safe environment for our school community.

Please feel free to call me with any questions or concerns or updated information about your child's health status. For families who are new to the North Andover Public Schools, we have a system-wide Health and Food Safety Policy in place to support healthy lifestyles and to help to provide a safe environment for students with life-threatening food allergies. Food is not used to celebrate birthdays and parents are asked not to send in treats for this occasion. Teachers may choose to recognize birthdays in alternative ways depending on the individual classroom. Holiday celebrations usually limit the food to a drink and a healthy snack. You will receive further information from your child's teacher and room mother about holidays such as Halloween. Food items are not used as manipulatives in the curriculum with the exception of dry pasta, rice, etc. Please call if you would like more detailed information about this policy.

Recycle ALL Your PlasticsYou can now recycle ALL plastics curbside in North Andover! On the bottom of every plastic container is a raised triangle with a number inside of it. The town used to collect only plastic with a number 1 or 2. Now, ANY NUMBER is picked up. You cannot recycle styrofoam and plastic bags have to be returned to the grocery store. Remember, we use tax dollars to pay by the pound to burn our trash and, even with filtering, burned plastics release dioxins into the air ... the air our children breathe.
