The main door at Kittredge will be locked every morning at 9:00AM and remain locked for the entire day. Before you can enter the building, you must go to the left of the main door and push the button. Once Mrs. Jacobs has identified you, she will unlock the door so that you can enter the building. Please do not use the door bell on the right unless you need to enter the building after 3:15PM. It is also necessary for you to continue to sign in and wear a visitor's badge while you are in the building. Thank you.
Reminder for 5th Grade ParentsYou are invited to attend a presentation at the Atkinson School on Monday, March 8, from 7:00-8:00PM in the Atkinson School Cafeteria. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the Human Growth and Development units and video which addresses puberty and development. Following this presentation, school nurses will be available to answer any questions you may have. Please call the health office if you have any questions. This program is for adults only.
Greater Lawrence Habitat for Humanity UpdateThe Women Build Project of Greater Lawrence Habitat for Humanity have been building 2 homes in Haverhill for about a year now. These women have committed their Saturdays even in the bitter cold. They are currently putting the vinyl siding up and hope to have the homes complete by May. Please support their efforts with a donation. Public and Private Resources for Children with Special NeedsThe North Andover Parent Advisory Council For Children with Special Needs and The Professional Center For Child Development Presents Public and Private Resources for Children with Special Needs on March 4, 2004, 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm at the North Andover Middle School Library. Topics include: Family Support Services, Respite, Flexible Funding Sources, Assistance Transitioning Children from the public school setting at 18 or 22; Eligiblity requirements for Social Security, Masshealth, Commonhealth and Kaleigh Mulligan Program. Family Ties Parent to Parent Network and other Family and Community Support Programs; and Experienced pediatric therapists (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speach and Language), reasonable cost.
North Andover Little League Launches New Web SiteKeeping track of Little League practices, games and events just got easier. North Andover's Booster Club Little League (NABCLL) redesigned its web site to help busy families keep track of their favorite player's schedule and the goings-on of the entire league. This site, http://www.eteamz.com/NorthAndover, will feature game and practice schedules as well as events, directions, photos and league news.

Recycling NewsStarting today you can put #1 and all kinds of #2 plastic in your recycling bin. (Before you could only put frosted #2's curbside) Just look at the bottom of the plastic bottle and you'll see the number, indicating the type of plastic. Since you will undoubtedly have more to recycle, you might need a second bin, which you can get at the Department of Public Works for $3.00. Or you can use your own plastic bin. To make things easier for the drivers, if you use your own bin, try to put all the same things in that bin. (e.g. all #1, all #2, all tin, etc.)
6th Annual Walk For YouthSave the Date for the 6th Annual Walk For Youth, Sunday, March 28th, rain or shine at the Old Center Common. Come join us and get some exercise while helping to raise money for the Youth Center. Consider walking as a family, with your sports team or with a group of friends. Details to follow after February vacation.
