Enrichment Council News

Did you hear that an inventor, scientist, printer, author, and diplomat visited Kittredge School last month? All of these describe local stage and screen actor, Dick Elliot, who portrayed Ben Franklin in a visit to our school. Children in grades 3-5 learned about Franklin's life and accomplishments. Did you know Ben Franklin was 13 when he made his first invention? Franklin invented bifocals, the odometer, and a rocking chair (to name a few). Ask your children if they remember about all the 17's in Ben's life, including being one of 17 children! Thank you for your donations to the Enrichment Council. Your donations, along with funds from the PTO, allow these special programs that enhance your children's learning. To learn more about Ben Franklin visit the web: http://www.benfranklin.org.

Looking To Volunteer In The Library?

As the second half of the school year approaches, our library needs more volunteers on each Wednesday from 8:30-11:30AM. An hour of your time would be greatly appreciated to assist Abby Gilbert in keeping our library "top shelf." If available, please contact Amy Stavros at +1 978 689 3297. Thank you!!!

Cookbook Update

Many, many thanks to all who took time out to submit their favorite recipes. We have collected 200 wonderful recipes. The cookbook will include simple to complex recipes, but remember all of them are a Kittredge tried and true favorite! The recipes have been sent out to be published and we should receive our books by the end of April. These will make a wonderful keepsake and a special gift for Mother's Day, Father's Day, and birthdays.

2nd/3rd Grade Dance Tickets Still Available

Yes - tickets are still available. If you didn't get yours, you can pick them up this week at Thomson Main Office (9:00AM - 3:00PM) or by calling Audrie Malin at 686-2607. Thanks again for your support.

Recycling News

Starting today you can put #1 and all kinds of #2 plastic in your recycling bin. (Before you could only put frosted #2's curbside) Just look at the bottom of the plastic bottle and you'll see the number, indicating the type of plastic. Since you will undoubtedly have more to recycle, you might need a second bin, which you can get at the Department of Public Works for $3.00. Or you can use your own plastic bin. To make things easier for the drivers, if you use your own bin, try to put all the same things in that bin. (e.g. all #1, all #2, all tin, etc.)
